Farming Practices
As testament to the efforts we have made in 2011 the farm was asked to host the Northamptonshire Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust annual walk.
Examples of our good environmental practices include:
Wildlife & Land Management
- In combination with the farm shoot planting 3-4 acres of wild bird mix each year
- Replanting some three acres of woodland on the farm.
- Creating two new ponds to encourage greater a diversity of wildlife.
Farming Practices
- Leaving six meter margins around our arable fields to encourage wildlife.
- Buffer strips alongside all watercourses to reduce the risk of contamination from sprays etc
- Leaving some of the pasture free from an artificial inputs to encourage native grasses and flowers
- Using the latest technology to ensure we do apply any more fertiliser or sprays than is necessary.
As testament to the efforts we have made in 2011 the farm was asked to host the Northamptonshire Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust annual walk.
